SMARTconverter for China's megacity Chongqing

Now they are also in use in China's heavily demanded passenger transport: on line 4 phase 2 in the megacity of Chongqing, 144 SMARTconverters with a power of 120 kVA + 20 kW equip the vehicles of the Chongqing Metro. The lightweight and compact auxiliary power converters are used in 36 trains with six vehicles each manufactured by CRRC Chongqing. To ensure reliable operation, four SMARTconverters feed in parallel to common AC and DC rails. The total of 144 SMARTconverters will be manufactured at Guangzhou Dinghan in Jiangmen. Deliveries will start in August 2021.
